About the competition
We are running a sustainability-themed ‘Ready for Tomorrow’ school competition, to encourage pupils living in the coastal communities surrounding its ports to make their schools more sustainable. Celebrating ABP’s own Net Zero sustainability strategy ‘Ready for Tomorrow’, the competition will be open to pupils aged 8 – 10 years in participating schools. To help generate ideas, pupils are encouraged to watch ABP’s ‘The Voyage’ video and read an age-appropriate strategy summary, which aims to convey its key focus areas such as greenhouse gas emissions, air quality, biodiversity and waste and water management in a more accessible way.
Spread across ABP’s regions, participating schools are situated in coastal communities in the Humber, Solent, East Anglia, South West England, Scotland and Wales. Winners and runners up will be selected in each of these locations and will receive prizes including book vouchers and school donations. Winners will also be invited to attend ABP’s Annual Review afternoon tea reception at the Houses of Parliament in London. The winners will be announced at the end of June 2023.
