We understand that you and your customers need safe and time-efficient handling, keeping control of your costs. ABP’s extensive portfolio of facilities, backed by well-equipped stevedoring operations and other services, will help your business achieve that objective.
In South Wales, we have a steel terminal at the Port of Newport that currently handles over 500,000 tonnes of steel each year.
This facility has 300,000 square metres of covered storage, with an undercover rail siding served by gantry cranes. In addition, the southside Queen Alexandra Dock in Cardiff has a specialist steel terminal complete with a long product manufacturing plant and state-of-the-art equipment.
On the Humber, our ports of Hull and Goole have covered steel-handling terminals to manage your cargo safely and securely. The ISO9001:2000-accredited All Weather Terminal in Hull is the UK’s first fully-enclosed cargo-handling terminal, with rail and road access for quick and easy distribution of your cargo.

Connectivity
ABP’s network of ports benefit from excellent marine access to steel-producing regions. South Wales has exceptional road and timetabled rail connectivity to the West Midlands, linking our rail-served facilities to sources of demand. The Humber ports are in close proximity to the M62 corridor, benefit from excellent rail access and are ideally situated for short sea trade to major steel plants in Europe.
ABP offers you and your customers an unparalleled range of locations, routes and logistics solutions for both import and export flows.
