A new release of development land on the southside of Cardiff city centre is set to become a catalyst for regeneration.
Associated British Ports (ABP) the UK’s leading ports group, is bringing two sites to market at ABP Business Park within the Port of Cardiff that could accommodate up to 200,000 sq ft of new industrial or logistics development. The sites on Longships Road comprise approximately 13 acres and are available as a whole or in part.
Helen Thomas, ABP’s Head of Property for Wales & Short Sea Ports comments: “Cardiff’s port already supports 2,600 jobs nationally and contributes around £180 million to the economy each year.
“We believe the development of these sites can be a further catalyst for investment and creating new jobs in what is now the fastest growing capital city in Europe.”
ABP Business Park is strategically situated close to the heart of Cardiff Bay on the southern edge of the city centre, and has access to both Junction 29 (east) and Junction 33 (west) of the M4 motorway via the newly extended A4232 dual carriageway. The site benefits from a direct rail link which can be extended into ABP Business Park to enable transportation of freight and products via the national rail network. As the sites are located within the port, they also have direct access to sea routes and can accommodate deep sea trade.
Established businesses on the park include Tarmac, Bob Martin and Valero.

The sites are part of a national initiative by ABP which will see it release more than 1,000 acres to support the UK’s supply chain, manufacturing and renewable energy sectors.
Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE are advising ABP on the development of the Cardiff sites.
